The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) is committed to the protection of workers, the public and the environment. The DOE owns and oversees the operation of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), the nation’s only deep geologic repository for defense-related transuranic (TRU) waste and the National TRU Program (NTP).


Mission Statement:
Provide safe, compliant, and efficient characterization, certification, transportation, and disposal of defense transuranic waste.

Vision Statement:
Transition to a world class waste repository that maximizes the long-term use of the WIPP facility consistent with the mission and the Land Withdrawal Act.

Pathways Program (Recent Graduates)
The Pathways Program is a dynamic, one-year developmental program that promotes careers in the Federal Government. Participants in the Program receive training and professional development, complete an Individual Development Plan, and are assigned a mentor. Graduates who successfully complete the requirements may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a term or permanent position in the civil service.

This job is open to Recent Graduates, individuals who have graduated from an accredited educational institute or certificate program within the last two years, or six years for Veterans.
